PROBLEM THAT MAY BECOME APPARENT AFTER DRY CLEANING CURTAINS, BEDSPREADS, DUVETS, SEAT/CUSHION COVER AND BLINDS.

LIGHT DAMAGE: Direct and indirect light weakens and dis-colours most fabrics and backing materials. After exposure the fabric or coating can deteriorate to such an extent that it can tear and damage in normal dry cleaning or laundry.

SHRINKAGE: Many fabrics are not totally pre-shrunk at the time of purchase, 2 or 3% shrinkage can be expected on such fabrics. This shrinkage is beyond the control of the Dry Cleaner.

COLOUR FAILURE: Many fabrics are colored by being surface printed rather than dyed. Some of these surface colours are not colourfast to dry cleaning or laundry. Colours may fade or bleed/run. This is the manufacturers fault.

WATER MARK: Areas that get wet can show up as rings after dry cleaning or laundry. These may be difficult or impossible to remove.

STIFFENED FABRICS: Coatings on the fabric or its linings are sometimes used to impart insulating qualities. Some of these contain vinyl materials that are not totally resistant to dry cleaning. Loss of plasticizer from the vinyl can produce a very stiff and blistered fabric. This is the responsibility of the manufacturer.

YELLOW STAINS: Fabrics tend to gradually turn yellow with age due to the combined effects of moisture, light, heat, smoke fumes and other atmospheric soils. The exposed folds of your curtains collect a greater amount of these elements that cause yellow streaks to form. Dry cleaning or laundry cannot remove these yellow streaks.
